Don’t fiddle with your life

18. February 10/ A journey through life, by Miha Pogacnik - the man who made the principal cry

Miha Pogacnik, former top-violinist, now working business-expert and cultural ambassador of Slovenia visited Performers House the 11’th of February.

Students, teachers and the friends of PH were all gathered in Studio 1 not knowing what to expect from this unknown performer. In came a short, elderly man who soon made shame of his appearance capturing his audience with charismatic force! Whether agreeing with his bold statements or not we were all blown away by his humour, charm and off course his wonderful ability to create images with his violin.

Through the tones of Bach and chaotic drawings he explained his views on business and life; how leaders submit their employees instead of welcoming creativity through an open and dynamic work-form and how this can be taken into personal development; “You want to become normal?!” he roared to the students “what a waste!”

His violin travelled through aggressive and masculine melodies to the more feline, soft enough to touch Lars Ilum to the verge of tears. He wanted to demonstrate how art is more than a symbol, but the way of living; “The creative biography is the meaning of life”.

After 90 minutes Miha Pogacnik sums up; “Whatever you do put your heart into it”

After the session, Miha Pogacnik signes his drawing ...

... and further discussed his viewpoints.

"Is this clear?" - Miha Pogacnik's illustration of music by Bach.
